Kodai Iwamoto Designは、徳島県に山林を所有する合同会社門口と共にオリジナル製品のyusan stoolを開発しました。

 まるで切り株のようなデザインのこのスツールは、胴体には合板を何層も重ねて円柱状に加工する成形合板で制作しており、座面と側面には杉の単板を貼り仕上げています。 特に座面の単板は、突板製造会社の特殊な技術により丸太を薄く輪切り加工した突板を使用しています。

中心から美しく広がる年輪からはその木がどのような環境でどのように育ったのか知ることができ、それはかつてその木が広大な自然の中の一部であった証明とも言えます。

建築資材のような規格化された単一的な木材ではなく、自然に生えている一本一本の木の個性に目を向けられるような椅子を目指しました。

Kodai Iwamoto Design, in collaboration with a company Monguchi, which owns forest land in Tokushima Prefecture, has developed an original product called ' yusan stool ' .

Designed to resemble a tree stump, this stool features a cylindrical body made from molded plywood, created by layering multiple sheets of plywood. The seat and sides are finished with cedar veneer. In particular, the veneer used for the seat is produced using a special technique developed by a veneer manufacturer, in which logs are thinly sliced into cross-sectional sheets.

The beautifully radiating tree rings from the center reveal the conditions in which the tree grew, serving as evidence that it was once part of a vast natural environment.

Rather than using standardized, uniform materials like those commonly found in construction, this chair was conceived to highlight the unique character of each individual tree found in nature.
