Arm Chair for Dior Tea House

An armchair designed for the Tea House at the Dior Bamboo Pavilion.
It was conceived to be lightweight and easy to handle within the limited 7.5 m² space of the tea house, while still providing a sense of stability and comfort that allows the user to fully relax into it.
Inspired by the beauty of the cannage pattern on the chairs placed at the venue of Christian Dior’s first collection—an element that has since been carefully preserved as part of the Maison’s heritage—this chair incorporates a cannage-patterned rattan weave in its seat.
Dior Bamboo Pavilion のTea House のために設計したアームチェア。
7.5㎡の限られたティーハウスの空間でも軽量で取り回しやすく、かつ安心して体を預けられるよう設計した。
また、クリスチャンディオールが自身の初のコレクションを開催した際に会場におかれた椅子のカナージュ柄の美しさに魅了され、それ以来メゾンがこの柄を大切に受け継いできた、と言うストーリーのもと、本チェアでもカナージュ模様の籐編みを座面に採用した。
